Welcome to the family cakes

Those were the top search words that generated hits on my blog last week.

Nice. I really don’t know what to do with that.

It is a step up from “big handed tall woman”.

But a step down from “extra large hunter”.

Well, to you people who came to my blog whilst looking for an extra large hunter and family-welcoming cake recipes, I hope you eventually find what you are searching for, but I also hope you stay awhile and find something useful here.

Like a recipe for deluxe bircher muesli.

How much more useful can you get than healthy, energizing, filling, easy and fast to make breakfast?
·         Put milk and yogurt into the Vita-mix.
·         Add an apple, halved and cored, and a spoonful of honey.
·         Blend for 10 seconds
·         Add a handful of mixed dried fruit and a handful of mixed nuts and seeds.
pantry raid!
·         Mix for 5 more seconds.
·        Transfer to serving dish(es) and let stand for at least 30 minutes, or overnight in the fridge.

And there you have it.

Ease: Not so simple, mainly because the apple just didn't want to blend. Grr! I ended up blending for much longer and on a higher speed. And you have to wait a bit to eat it, so some advanced planning is required.
Flavour: good.
Make again: yes, we love muesli!

  1. That looks really good, as do many of the recipes you're trying with the new Vitamix! (also enjoyed the title "pantry raid!")
